Dear Community Friend,

As the holidays start to approach rather fast, we would like you to remember to stay true to what Thanksgiving means, to give thanks. Our community has always held to true to that fact. It is also time that we truly thank our community and those you helped shaped it. In most cases, people don’t get to gather around the table and share their troubles, stories, and especially their thanks.

This year a few individuals will continue to hosts a Thanksgiving Dinner for those that do no have place to go. There are many members of the communities that don’t get to have Thanksgiving. Others may only have the opportunity with a small group of their peers. Our local AIDS Service Organization would normally hold a small dinner for their clients at their respective venues. We offer a place for all to come together and share a meal and maybe even good company and conversation.

We have begun reaching out to these organizations and they are excited to be a part of it. We are asking each of them to invite their clients. Not only is this dinner for those that are a part of an agency, but for any of the community that does not have a place to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. With that, we are looking to provide food for upwards of 400 people. The Round-Up Saloon has graciously opened up their venue to us. The dinner will be a served buffet style starting at 1:00 PM and continue until 4:00 PM. Family style sitting will be available.

Now is the time that we ask you to help us help our community reach this grand moment. We are asking for donations to make this possible. With that we need donations to help make this possible. The primary needs are turkeys and hams. Second to that will be paper goods like plates, napkins, utensils, etc. Financial donations are welcome so that we can purchase the sides, rolls, and of course the main entrees. We are able to buy in bulk and make sure the sides are the same and the right quantities. We are developing a gracious list of volunteers that will help us prepare and cook the items.

With Thanksgiving Day approaching, it is necessary for us to get confirmations from as many donors as possible. This will allow us time to organize, gather, and prepare this heartwarming dinner. If you are able to donate food, goods, side dishes, or monetary gifts, please let us know. We have volunteers that can arrange for pick-up of donations.

Our contact information is listed at the bottom of this letter. We want to thank you in advance for helping us bring our community together for what is to be an amazing community gathering.

Celebrating our community together,
